TCA Has Adopted the Rockcrest West Tributary Stream

The Twinbrook Community Association has recently adopted a stream – the Rockcrest West Tributary. This 1/3 mile stream segment is encompassed within Rockcrest Park on the southside of Viers Mill. Our responsibilities include cleaning up the stream and nearby surrounding area two times a year. These clean up efforts provide a final chance to grab any trash or other pollutants before they continue on into to the Potomac River and finally the Chesapeake Bay.

We will kick off our first clean-up, as one of our monthly walk-and-talks, on Saturday, October 14 from 10AM-12PM to coincide with Montgomery County’s Community Service month. Our rain date is Saturday, October 21 from 10AM-12PM.

The City of Rockville provides its volunteers with work gloves, trash bags, and trash grabbers. The City will also come by and pick up the trash we collect as well.
