Election Sign Rules

As our City elections gear up, we’ll start to see candidate signs sprouting up in people’s yards.

But what are City rules regarding signs?

No signs may be placed in the area between the sidewalk and the road

Signs may only be placed on private property.

What do you do if you see a sign posted on public land?

If you have any concerns about yard signs, contact the city at 240-314-5000. They will send people out to verify and/or remove signs that are not in compliance.
